Biography

Irina Rindzuner, Soprano
 

Metropolitan Opera soprano, Irina Rindzuner, was born in Russia. She is quickly establishing herself as one of the world’s most versatile and expressive sopranos.  Upcoming performances for Ms. Rindzuner include:  Turandot  with Staatstheater Saarbrücken,Minnie (cover) with the Lyric Opera of Chicago  and Leonora in "Il Trovatore" with the Linz  Landestheater. 

Ms. Rindzuner began the 2009-2010 season singing the title role of  Turandot in Santiago de Chile.   Immediately following she sang her first Amelia (Un Ballo in Maschera) at the PAC Center in New  Jersey. 
 

Joining to the MET roster in the 2008-2009 season as the cover of Nedda in "Pagliacci", Ms. Rindzuner also sang, with less than 24 hours notice, Minnie in "La Fanciulla del West" with the L’Opera de Montreal. The debut was called a “stunning success” by the Montreal  press.  Ms. Rindzuner returned to L’Opera de Montreal for the prestigious December gala concert. Also in the 2008 season, Ms. Rindzuner sang Manon in "Manon Lescaut" with the Utah Festival Opera, Desdemona  in "Otello" with the Vero Beach Opera, and her first Turandot with the National Lyric Opera of New York. Anthony Tomasini of the "New York Times" called Ms.Rindzuner's Turandot  
"powerful and fearless, earning her a rousing ovation".

A favorite with the New York City Ballet, Ms. Rindzuner performed the  Russian Seasons in London and Copenhagen. She collaborated often with star tenor, Marcello Giordani, in recital. In the 2007 season, Ms. Rindzuner made her New York City Opera debut as Santuzza, she also sang her first Manon Lescaut to rave notices by famed critic, Clive Barnes.  She has performed with equal success in the United States, as well as Europe, at companies such as the Tulsa Opera (USA), the Teatro di Casal Maggiore (Italy), Yekaterinburg Opera (Russia), Dicapo Opera Theatre NYC(USA),New Jersey Verismo Opera (USA), and with the New York Choral Society at Carnegie Hall, Mid-America Productions at Carnegie Hall, the Puerto Rico Symphony, the Silesian Philharmonic (Poland), and at the Khabarovsk Theater (Russia). Irina has won international vocal competitions in Italy (Monteverdi International Vocal Competition), Russia (First Opera International Vocal Competition) and been a finalist at the Lyric Opera Center for American Artists in Chicago the Licia Albanese Puccini Foundation in New York City, and a Gerda Lissner winner.
